Hours of Operation:   Mon-Fri 7AM-6PM

Ages: 2-5 Years

Personal Belongings: Cubbies are provided for each child to store personal belongings. Children may not bring toys or games from home except on specified occasions. Sheets and Blankets are provided for all children. If your child has a special blanket they would like to bring they may. We only ask that it stays here for the week and does not come and go daily with the child.

Field Trips: There are no field trips at A+ Academics

Admission Policies: When you Enroll your child there will be necessary paperwork to be filled out. All forms must be submitted before your child may start. After you have had a chance to read through these materials i will meet with you to discuss any questions or concerns you might have. No child will be denied enrollment on the basis of his/her race or religion. We do retain the right to deny enrollment if all our spots for a particular child's age group are filled. We do not make it a policy to deny enrollment on the basis of a child with special needs, however we cannot accept them into our center, if after talking with the parents of such a child I realize that we do not have the training, equipment, facilities, etc to handle their child. This is in the best interest of the child, since our goal is to fully meet the specific needs of each child. We have had several children with special needs in our center and are more than willing to work with any specialist that may want to come in and work with your child.

Transportation/ sign in and out procedures: Parents/Guardians are expected to provide transportation to and from childcare. Carseats, or if weight and age allows, booster seats are required for all children in our center. Upon arrival and departure, a parent/guardian must sign in/out each child. A full signature is required every time a child is signed in or out. Only those listed on the identification and emergency information form may pick up your child. Picture ID will be required. If you have any legal documents stating those who are not allowed contact with your child, please submit a copy for your child's file.

Open door policy/ Parent Volunteer: After your initial scheduled tour we have an open door policy. This means that you are welcome to come and visit the school at any time without calling or scheduling an appointment. We have children on lots of different schedules so parents are coming and going throughout the day. For several reasons we ask that parents do not spend more than a few moments at a time when they visit and at drop off/ pick up times. This is for the well-being of all of the children. Many children have stranger anxiety with adults they are not familiar with. Many parents are also uncomfortable with adults that are not approved through licensing or cleared through fingerprints being around their children for long periods of time. We have had Parent/Grandparent volunteers for circle times and class party's. If you would like to volunteer please see the director.

Illness Policy: If your child is too ill to participate fully in daily activities, they may not attend school. For the comfort and protection of all of the children in our care, your child should be kept home if they exhibit any symptoms that may be contagious. If your child becomes ill or develops symptoms while in school, they will be separated from the other children and you will be notified. You will need to pick up your child as soon as possible. They must be symptom free without aid of medication for at least 24 hours before returning to school or have a doctors note stating that they are not contagious. A more detailed list of exclusion illnesses/symptoms will be given at the time of your tour. If your child does stay home due to illness we require that you notify us as early as possible so that we can notify other parents of possible exposure.

Medication: If your child is on medication and it needs to be administered while they are at school, the medication must be in the original container and labeled with the child's name, doctor's name, name of medication, dosage, and when to be taken. I will also have a form for you to sign giving us permission to administer medication to your child. Medication will be administered th the time you specify and a written record kept. Any medication that is not prescribed must accompany a physicians note including dosage to be given and length of time.

Discipline Policy: Our staff models expected behavior and uses positive methods of discipline which encourages self-control, self-direction, positive self-esteem and cooperation among peers. Our staff will redirect a child to a different activity if they are having behavior problems. They will sit down with the child at his/her level and discuss the behavior if it continues. Then after many attempts by the teacher to redirect the behavior a child may be given a time out. If it still continues the director will come in and speak to the child or bring him/her to the office to give them time to consider their actions away from the distractions of the classroom. The child's parents will be notified at the end of the day or immediately if the behavior continues. In rare occasions parents may have to come and pick up their child. Our staff will never use physically or mentally abusive forms of discipline. If the teachers have an on-going discipline problem with your child we will need to meet to discuss further action or dismissal.
